چکیده

Traditional graph sampling methods reduce the size of a large network via uniform sampling of nodes from the original network. The sampled network can be used to estimate the topological properties of the original network. However, in some application domains (e.g., disease surveillance), the goal of sampling is also to help identify a specified category of nodes (e.g., affected individuals) in a large network. This work therefore aims to, given a large information network, sample a subgraph under a specific goal of acquiring as many nodes with a particular category as possible. We refer to this problem as supervised sampling, where we sample a large network for a specific category of nodes. To this end, we model a network as a Markov chain and derive supervised random walks to learn stationary distributions of the sampled network. The learned stationary distribution can help identify the best node to be sampled in the next iteration. The iterative sampling process ensures that with new sampled nodes being acquired, supervised sampling can be strengthened in turn. Experiments on synthetic as well as real-world networks show that our supervised sampling algorithm outperforms existing methods in obtaining target nodes in the sampled networks. & 2015 Elsevier B.V. Time Delay and Data Dropout Compensation in Networked Control Systems Using Extended Kalman Filter

In networked control systems, time delay and data dropout can degrade the performance of the control system and even destabilize the system. In the present paper, the Extended Kalman filter is employed to compensate the effects of time delay and data dropout in feedforward and feedback paths of networked control systems. In the proposed method, the extended Kalman filter is used as an observer ...

ActNeT: Active Learning for Networked Texts in Microblogging

Supervised learning, e.g., classification, plays an important role in processing and organizing microblogging data. In microblogging, it is easy to mass vast quantities of unlabeled data, but would be costly to obtain labels, which are essential for supervised learning algorithms. In order to reduce the labeling cost, active learning is an effective way to select representative and informative ...

Stabilization of Networked Control Systems with Variable Delays and Saturating Inputs

In this paper, improved conditions for the synthesis of static state-feedback controller are derived to stabilize networked control systems (NCSs) subject to actuator saturation. Both of the data packet latency and dropout which deteriorate the performance of the closed-loop system are considered in the NCS model via variable delays. Two different techniques are employed to incorporate actuator...

Fuzzy Neural Network-based Time Delay Prediction for Networked Control Systems

In networked control systems, the varying transmission time delay of the transmitting signal is unavoidable. If the varying transmission time delay exceeds the fixed sampling time, the system will be unstable. To solve this problem, in this paper, the logicbased fuzzy neural networks are applied to the prediction of transmission time delay. The predicted time delay is used as a sampling period ...
